The 2016 National Teacher of the Year, Johana Hayes journey to teaching began as a student first. Being the first in her family to graduate from college, Johana was inspired by teachers along the way who urged her to dream bigger dreams and they showed her and taught her along the way that she was college material, despite a challenging upbringing.
