KOG2ILM Mission Trip Update- week 3

After two weeks of collecting school supplies, backpacks, snacks and reams of copy paper, great progress has been made.  Even though donations for the Alderman Elementary School teachers continue to pour in, we already have collected enough school supplies for all 280 Alderman students to have a terrific start to the 2016 school year.

Last Friday, twenty FBC Love Does volunteers planned, decorated, and served the Alderman Teacher’s Luncheon held at the Activities Center.  With 50 Alderman staff present, a delicious salad bar buffet was devoured and room was saved for a full table of delicious desserts made by our FBC cooks.  On display at the luncheon was a mound of school supplies, backpacks and school snacks.  Matt Cook gave some encouraging words and over 21 teaches signed up for the Prayer Partner Ministry.

Loves Does is just starting and it is obvious that God has already been at work preparing the hearts of the Alderman teachers and staff as well as the members of First Baptist.  School does not start until Monday, August 29 so you still can bring donations to the Activities Center or sign up to tutor a child this year through TORO.
