Behind the Scenes at Mission Serve Week-Dinner Team

MEET THE FBC MISSION SERVE DINNER TEAM…

Lois Corder knows her way around a kitchen! She has been preparing meals for groups at FBC for over thirty years! Lois and her dedicated Mission Serve Dinner Team arrived each afternoon to prepare a delicious home cooked meal for the Mission Serve ministry teams! In the busyness of preparing for Tuesday’s night meal of beef stew, roasted potatoes, carrots, steamed broccoli, salad and chocolate cupcakes Lois and a few team members took time to answer the question, “Why I serve.”

David Smith– I help to serve these kids who are giving so much. I remember being on mission trips and what it’s like to be tired, hot, hungry and ready for a good meal!

Tom Corder-That’s easy. Lois loves to cook and to serve in this way. I love Lois and being with her so I love serving with her. I also love my church and I love the Lord!

Joan Marshall– I love the kids and I love my church. I want to be a part of this and help in any way I can!

Beverly Plasters- I really want to be a part of what is going on and help in any way needed.

Jim Currin– I really love young people. I love their optimism and their energy.

Lois Corder– I didn’t get the gift of teaching but I did get the gift of being able to cook. This is something I know and a way I can serve God.

Sharon Sutton– I want to be a part of what’s going on at my church. I love the kids and being around them!

We ought not to be weary of doing little things for the love of God, who regards not the greatness of the work, but the love with which it is performed.” Brother Lawrence, The Practice of the Presence of God
